OJ Simpson was sentenced today for the 12 charges, including kidnapping and armed robbery, he was convicted of in October stemming from his attempt to reclaim some sports memorabilia. OJ will be eligible for parole after six years. Before the sentencing an emotional OJ addressed the court.
Judge Jackie Glass assured the courtroom and the public that she was not sentencing OJ for any of his past alleged actions. "I'm not here to sentence Mr Simpson for what happened previously. I'm not here to try and cause any retribution or any payback for anything else."
UPDATE: Simpson's sentence is now reported to be a nine year minimum
