It's no secret - a couple of us here at RCS are JMU graduates. And there's perhaps no better time to be proud supporters of the Dukes than now: they've been the #1 team in the FCS for most of the season, and tonight, LIVE on ESPN2 at 8PM, JMU will look to advance to the National Championship game for the second time in their program's history (yeah, the FCS has playoffs - weird, right?) Tonight's game against Montana is actually a rematch of that 2004 title game, a JMU win, 31-21.
Not to say they're a team of destiny (knock on wood), but this season has included an upset win over then-No. 1 Appalachian State (after trailing 21-0 at the half), a game-winning, 69-yard punt return touchdown with one second remaining to beat Richmond and a Hail Mary pass as time expired to down Villanova. A pretty wild year, one that hopefully continues tonight.
