The RCS NHL Power Ranking Averages combine seven* other sites' power rankings to make the most balanced and unbiased grade possible, and to offer the most accurate look at the state of the NHL on a weekly basis.
The team that started the season ranked #1, the Red Wings, is finally back in the top spot in the RCS NHL Power Ranking Averages. The two teams that have spent most of the season at #1, the Sharks and the Bruins, are ranked 2nd and 3rd, respectively. The Red Wings and Sharks practically split first and third place votes this week, with the Bruins taking home the majority of the second place votes. This week sees the same ten teams in the top-ten as last week.
The Florida Panthers climbed the most spots in the rankings this week, moving up six spots from 20th to 14th. The opinions on the Panthers are widely varied, as they are ranked as high as 11th (by TSN) and as low as 21st (by ESPN).
The Penguins continue to plummet falling five spots (the most of any team) for the second week in a row, from 15th to 20th.
At the bottom of the rankings, the Islanders are the unanimous 30th ranked team, with the Senators and Thrashers rounding out the rest of the bottom-three on every site.
