Go ahead and get rid of all your jokes now, because this one's pretty legit ("Womens hoopster guarantees one behind-the-back pass in next game!").
After Oklahoma clinched the Big 12 regular season title with a win over Texas Tech Wednesday night, senior All-American Courtney Paris gave her speech to the crowd, and in it was a rather hefty promise.
"We’re gonna win a national championship,” she told the crowd.
"If we don’t, which is not even an option,” Paris said after the applause died down, "just to put something on the line — and it might take me the rest of my life — I will pay back my scholarship because I didn’t do what I said I was going to do.”
Is that even allowed? For some reason I imagine the NCAA being oddly strict about players paying back their scholarship money. But that worry may be all for not: Oklahoma is ranked 3rd in both polls, already claimed the Big 12 regular season and is the number-one seed in the conference tournament beginning Thursday.
