The RCS NBA Power Ranking Averages combine eight* other sites' power rankings to make the most balanced and unbiased grade possible, and to offer the most accurate look at the state of the NBA on a weekly basis.
The Cavaliers are the unanimous number-one team in this week’s RCS NBA Power Ranking Averages. Behind them, the Lakers are the undisputed choice at #2, and the Magic and Celtics nearly unanimous at three and four respectively (only USA Today had them flipped).
The Spurs, 5th in the RCS Power Averages, are ranked fifth or sixth by all the sites except for Hoops World, who has them down at 10th. Apart from that, the rankings all closely mirror one another as the season is winding down and most questions about each team have been answered, letting us know where they stand in comparison to the rest of the league.
The West continues to look strong at the top, with nine of the top-fourteen teams. However, the West also clearly has the worst teams in the league as well, with six of the bottom seven teams in the Association.
*Rankings from 6 of the 8 sites were posted at the time of publication. The RCS Rankings will be updated as new rankings become available.
