The RCS NBA Power Ranking Averages combine eight* other sites' power rankings to make the most balanced and unbiased grade possible, and to offer the most accurate look at the state of the NBA on a weekly basis.
The Cavs are the #1 team in the RCS NBA Power Ranking Averages, the first team in sole possession of the #1 spot since the week of January 13th. The Rockets provided a bit of a shake-up by taking over the 5th spot: they’re the first team besides the Cavs, Lakers, Celtics, Magic or Spurs to be ranked in the top-five since before Christmas (with the Spurs falling to 6th this week).
The teams at the top seem pretty set, with Western Conference seeds 2-8 (and possibly the Suns at 9) jockeying for position, and all eight power ranked between 5 and 13. In the Eastern Conference, the fight is at the bottom of the playoffs, with current seeds 7 through 13 power ranked from 16th to 22nd.
