Atlanta Braves and Team USA third baseman Chipper Jones decided to leave the World baseball Classic and return to spring training on Sunday, after suffering a strained oblique. Upon his return, Jones complained that the WBC had too many days off, and Toronto was not the right venue. When complaining about days off, Jones said:
We stayed in Toronto for a week and played three games. I don’t know if you’ve ever stayed in Toronto, but it’s not exactly Las Vegas. To say that we were plucking our eyebrows out one at a time would be an understatement.
Wow, if plucking your eyebrows out was an understatement of your boredom, what exactly were you doing? Punching each other in the stomach? Watching paint dry? Pulling the wings off flies? Seeing how many times in an hour you can vomit? Plucking your regular hair out? It's not exactly like Toronto is that boring. They have bars, nightclubs, strip clubs, nearby gambling – most anything you'd look to for entertainment. I will give Chipper the fact that it is cold in Canada, unlike in Las Vegas, or his home, Atlanta.
Keep in mind, all of this stems from comments that he had too many days off. Too many days off? What? Is that even a complaint? I'm sorry you had to try to enjoy yourself without having work responsibilities. Man, that must be a tough life.
