Sharks and Red Wings Atop RCS NHL Power Ranking Averages

nhl%20ranks21.jpgThe RCS NHL Power Ranking Averages combine seven* other sites' power rankings to make the most balanced and unbiased grade possible, and to offer the most accurate look at the state of the NHL on a weekly basis.

The Sharks and Red Wings are on top of the RCS NHL Power Ranking Averages this week. This ends a three-week streak of the Devils being ranked number one.

No surprise, there are a lot of differences in rankings between the various power ranking sites yet again. Nowhere is this exemplified more than with the Canadiens, who have an RCS average of 17.33. The Canadiens are ranked as high as 10th by Fox, but as low as 26th by Sports Illustrated. I understand that there are a lot of things one can look at when compiling power rankings, but to have a difference of 16 spots when discussing one team is outrageous. In actuality, to rank the Habs 10th or 26th are almost equally ridiculous.

*AOL rankings were not released for the week at the time of publication.
