Bruins End Season at #1 in RCS NHL Power Ranking Averages

nhl%20ranks24.pngThe RCS NHL Power Ranking Averages combine seven* other sites' power rankings to make the most balanced and unbiased grade possible, and to offer the most accurate look at the state of the NHL on a weekly basis.

The Boston Bruins are on top in the final edition of the RCS NHL Power Ranking Averages. The hottest team in the rankings for the last week is the Canucks, who moved up from 10th to 5th, and rose to take the 3rd seed in the Western Conference.

With the season over, there is less discrepancy in the rankings this week than most weeks, however, there are still some noticeable differences, most of it near the top. The Capitals are ranked as high as 2nd by ESPN, and as low as 8th by TSN and Yahoo! The Devils are ranked 4th by TSN and Yahoo!, but just 11th by CBS. The biggest difference among the rankings centers around the Ducks, who are as high as 8th (CBS) and as low as 17th (Fox) – the Ducks are the eight-seed in the Western Conference playoffs.

Judging by the RCS Power Ranking Averages, the most intriguing playoff series appear to be the Penguins-Flyers, (RCS Rankings of 7 and 9, respectively), and the Devils-Hurricanes, (#8 and #10).

*AOL and SI did not release rankings after the end of the NHL season.
