That's what Isiah Thomas will get at Florida International for his first season, as he says he will give his first year’s salary back to FIU.
"Everyone look how generous I am"
While this appears to be a sign of Thomas' commitment to his new school and love of coaching, don't forget he is still going to be paid $12 million over the next two years by the Knicks. At it’s core, it's a way to make him seem -- what's a nice way to put this -– “not a complete waste of money.”
At the very least, FIU gets one year without having to pay a basketball coach, and compared to paying coaches for 20-loss seasons, I guess that's not a bad thing.
