NL West Continues Climb in RCS MLB Power Ranking Averages

7-9.pngThe RCS MLB Power Ranking Averages combine seven other sites' power rankings to make the most balanced and unbiased grade possible, and to offer the most accurate look at the state of the MLB on a weekly basis.

Not surprisingly, the Dodgers remain the #1 team in the finalRCS MLB Power Ranking Averages before the All-Star break. This is the 8th week in a row the Dodgers have been #1 in the rankings. Although they have the #1 team, the National League appears to be inferior, as the American League has the rest of the teams in the top-five.

Entering the top-ten this week is the Cardinals, who jump up from 11th to 9th; and falling out of the top-ten is the Brewers, who dropped from 8th to 12th. No team in the rankings moved more than four spots, up or down, from last week.

The NL West, who just a month ago was the weakest division in the power rankings, has now risen to compete with the AL East for the title of best division in baseball. The NL West has teams ranked 1, 6, 10, 27, and 28; while the AL East has teams ranked 2, 3, 8, 17, and 24. The worst division in the rankings is now the NL East, with teams ranked 11, 16, 20, 22, and 30.
