Yankees Unanimous #1 in RCS MLB Power Ranking Averages

8-13.jpgThe RCS MLB Power Ranking Averages combine seven* other sites' power rankings to make the most balanced and unbiased grade possible, and to offer the most accurate look at the state of the MLB on a weekly basis.

The NY Yankees are the new #1 team in the RCS MLB Power Ranking Averages, and they are a unanimous selection at #1. Helped by their sweep of the Red Sox, the Yankees leap frogged over the two LA teams into the top spot.

The hottest team in the rankings this week are the Atlanta Braves who moved up 4 spots from 16th to 12th. Dropping this week are the Pirates, who fell from 25th to 29th in the rankings.

Congratulations to the Washington Nationals, who have climbed out of the cellar for the first week this season. The Nats actually moved up two spots to 28th. Taking their spot at the bottom of the barrel are the KC Royals.

The AL West is pushing the AL East for the title of best division in baseball this week. The average ranking of the AL East is 11.6, with the AL West right behind them with an average ranking of 11.65.

*Yahoo! and Team Rankings have not released week rankings for this, so only 5 sites were averaged to create this week's RCS Averages.
