The RCS NFL Power Ranking Averages combine eight other sites' power rankings to make the most balanced and unbiased grade possible, and to offer the most accurate look at the state of the NFL on a weekly basis.
The Saints remain the top team in the RCS NFL Power Ranking Averages for the sixth consecutive week. The top ten saw little change on the whole this week, with the Broncos being the only team to fall out of the top ten (and I don't think they'll be returning) as they dropped to 14th after a fourth loss in a row.
Falling the most spots in the rankings this week are the Texans, who dropped from 13th to 19th after another missed last second game winning or game tying field goal. The Texans are the coldest team in the rankings, but the Ravens are the most misunderstood team. Various sites have the Ravens ranked anywhere from 8th (Fox) to 17th (CBS and NFL.com). Clearly Baltimore has the talent to be a top ten team, but close losses are pilling up against them.
The clear matchup of the week is the Monday night game, when the #4 Patriots travel to play the #1 New Orleans Saints.
Division Overall average rankings:
The AFC South overtakes the AFC North as the strongest division according to power rankings. In fact, the AFC North fell to the 3rd ranked conference, also behind the NFC East.
