Pay Homage to Gamblor - Week 12

It's Thanksgiving, which means it's time for football. Unfortunately, the recent trend means it's time for horrible football that no one really wants to watch. I for one might end up watching more college basketball than football. On to a slightly shortened version of the picks, in which I desperately try to get my lock of the week back on track.

Last week: 9-7
Season: 81-77-1
Lock of the week: 7-4

Home team in CAPS

Packers (-12) over LIONS
The Lions have lost by double digits every Thanksgiving game since 2003. Not that that means anything to this team, but not having Stafford, and not playing the Browns, does mean something.

COWBOYS (-13.5) over Raiders
The Raiders have gotten blown out after their two previous wins. They will be blown out again. Really, you can skip football this Thanksgiving, it has nothing to offer.

BRONCOS (+6.5) over Giants
I'm as big a non-believer in the Broncos as anyone, but the Giants aren't great either, Bradshaw is not playing, and Eli is due for a stinker.

TEXANS (+3.5) over Colts
I predict the Texans lose by a field goal for the third straight game.

BENGALS (-14) over Browns
No way the Browns can score multiple times two weeks in a row.

VIKINGS (-11) over Bears
I'm trying to think of a way to not reference Brett Favre here, but he is playing so good he is actually relevant for football reasons.

Redskins (+9.5) over EAGLES
Now the banged up Redskins will cover the spread against several teams who are better than them after spending the first half of the season straight up losing to several teams who are worse than them.

Dolphins (-3) over BILLS (LOCK OF THE WEEK)
Not sure how this spread is only at three. People know the Bills are really bad right? LOCK OF THE WEEK

TITANS (-3) over Cardinals
The Chris Johnson streak continues!

RAMS (+3) over Seahawks
Pick the Rams or pick the Seahawks on the road - both sound like losing options

FALCONS (-12) over Buccaneers
The Falcons need a statement game. The Bucs are the perfect opponent to make a statement against.

Panthers (+3) over JETS
The only team the Jets have beat since week 3 is the Raiders.

49ERS (-3) over Jaguars
The Jags are in position to make the playoffs. That would create a situation in which the opening line for a playoff game would be around 12 and get bigger as the week goes on, which is a way of saying the Jags don't belong in the playoffs.

CHARGERS (-13.5) over Chiefs
As with the Raiders, my philosophy is that after a horrible team wins, they will get blown out the following week.

RAVENS (-2.5) over Steelers
With Polamalu out and the Ravens in an absolute must win, I think they can finally beat the Steelers this year (in one of two).

Patriots (+2.5) over SAINTS
The Patriots came up just short against the Colts, this time they knock off the undefeated team.
