Chargers Rise in RCS NFL Power Ranking Averages

week 17.pngThe RCS NFL Power Ranking Averages combine eight other sites' power rankings to make the most balanced and unbiased grade possible, and to offer the most accurate look at the state of the NFL on a weekly basis.

Despite losing, the Colts remain the top team in the RCS NFL Power Ranking Averages, but the Chargers are hot on their heels, as they rose to second and closed the gap between the two teams. The Saints meanwhile, losers of two straight, fell to fourth, their lowest ranking since mid September.

The hottest team in the rankings is the Texans, who rose up from 20th to 14th as they kept their playoff hopes alive. Losing their playoff hopes, and losing embarrassingly to the Panthers, the Giants fell the most spots this week, as they dropped from 12th to 18th.

This Sunday is littered with big games and playoff implications, topping the list as the game of the week is when the #3 Eagles travel to Dallas to take on the #6 Cowboys.

Division Overall Average Rankings:
1. NFC East - 13.82
2. AFC South - 13.94
3. AFC North - 14.41
4. NFC South - 15.98
5. AFC East - 17.00
6. NFC North - 17.16
7, AFC West - 17.66
8. NFC West - 22.03

The NFC East barely hangs onto the divisional lead over the AFC South, and after rising up last week with Broncos and Raiders wins, the AFC West is right back down to seventh out of eight.
