The RCS NHL Power Ranking Averages combine six other sites' power rankings to make the most balanced and unbiased grade possible, and to offer the most accurate look at the state of the NHL on a weekly basis.

The red hot Devils shot up from 5th in the rankings last week to take the top spot in this weeks RCS NHL Power Ranking Averages. The Devils aren't the only hot team as the Penguins moved from 6th to 2nd, and the Kings rose from 9th to 5th.

The team jumping up the most spots in the rankings, however, are the Oilers, from 26th to 18th. Moving down the rankings for yet another week are the Flyers, who fell from 21st to 27th, and were up all the way up at 6th just three weeks ago. Also taking a stumble this week are the Lightning, who dropped from 19th into a tie with the Flyers for 27th.

And it wouldn't be the NHL Power Rankings if there weren't many teams with a wide range of rankings. Seven teams have a range of at least nine ranking spots from the various sites. The Oilers are ranked as high as 14th by CBS and as low as 27th by FanHouse. As it stands now the Oilers are riding a hot streak, but are still last in the Northwest Division.
