NBC executives apparently still think it is 1996, DVRs do not exist and the internet's only use is for pornography. That's the only explanation for why they have elected to tape delay Saturday's coverage of the Ryder Cup. After constant complaining from just about everyone during the Olympics, NBC still thinks tape delayed is the way Americans want to view their sports. They do it with tennis all the time, and now they are doing it with golf.

Even if NBC doesn't want to play the Ryder Cup live on its main network, they still have the capabilities of showing it on one of the several other networks they own, but no, the only way to watch Ryder Cup golf on Saturday is on tape delay. This way everyone watching college football on ESPN (or any other network with a ticker) Saturday will have the entire event ruined for them.

Thankfully, NBC is playing the Sunday portion of the Ryder Cup live. No word yet on if they are saving their Super Bowl XLVI broadcast for May sweeps.
