Saints Take Over Top Spot in NFL Power Ranking Averages

One week into the season and the Saints are the clear number one team in the RCS NFL Power Ranking Averages, with seven of nine ranking systems placing the Saints first. Last week's top team, the Colts, slipped down to fifth thanks to their loss to the Texans.
The Texans moved up eight spots (14th to 6th) after their impressive week 1 victory over the Colts. The Texans other division rival, the Titans, climbed the second most spots in the rankings this week, rising from 18th to 11th. Going the other way are the Raiders, who fell from 21st to 30th, and the 49ers who dropped from 16th to 24th.
More stats:
The top ten holds four teams that lost their week 1 matchup, the Colts, Vikings, Cowboys and Jets.
Tampa Bay holds the honor of being the lowest ranked team who won in week 1. Despite their win, the Bucs are only ranked 28th.
Discrepancies:
With only one week of data, the rankings are still all over the place. A whopping 12 teams have a range of at least eight ranking spots between the nine sites used. For example, the Jets are ranked 5th by Yahoo but 17th by CBS.
Divisional Rankings:
1. AFC South - 11.42
2. NFC East - 13.56
3. NFC North - 14.33
4. AFC North - 14.59
5. AFC East - 15.25
6. NFC South - 17.11
7. AFC West - 21.78
8. NFC West - 23.97
With the impressive performances of the Texans and Titans the AFC South rose above the NFC East to become the highest ranked division. Both West divisions somehow dropped to even lower average rankings than last week. The NFC West is particularly pathetic, with their top team being the Cardinals, ranked 19th.
