Furthering Philly Stereotypes

Remember when the Eagles drafted Donovan McNabb and he was booed because fans wanted Ricky Williams? Most would think going 92-49-1, making six Pro Bowls, and leading the team to the playoffs eight times would make those fans rethink their boos, but no, not in Philly.

WIP radio host and noted idiot Angelo Cataldi has other plans. In fact, Cataldi is reconvening the 'Dirty 30,' the group of 30 fans who attended the 1999 NFL Draft to boo the selection of McNabb, when McNabb returns to Philly on Sunday. If you thought that the Dirty 30 would show McNabb their appreciation for ten good years, you've never been to Philly. The group is there to do what Philly fans are best stereotyped for, booing. Cataldi said "We were right about McNabb, a crybaby who never won the big game in Philadelphia. Now that he's an opponent, we think it's important that we remind him of how his career began, and of how we still feel about him all these years later."

You were right about McNabb? Really? You were right that Ricky Williams was the right pick for the Eagles to make? I'm sure Philadelphia would have loved those early Ricky years of social anxiety and poor production on the field. Oh and if he was in Philly when he quit football, that would have gone over real well. (I think some fans might have actually tried to murder him.)

Yep, Cataldi and his 30 idiots were right, McNabb deserved to be booed, he was a bad pick and brought nothing good to the franchise or the city. Philadelphians, this is why people think you are the worst fans in the country.
