Thanks to playing a more fearsome opponent the Falcons leaped past the Patriots for the top spot in the RCS NFL Power Ranking Averages. The Patriots fell to second in the rankings, less than a full average ranking higher than the Jets, who they play on Monday. Moving up into the top ten this week are the Bears, who rose from 11th to 7th after beating the Eagles (who fell from 5th to 9th) and the Chargers, who climbed from 13th to 10th. Falling out of the rankings are the Colts, who dropped from 9th to 13th. This is the first week of the season the Colts have not been in the top 10. The Giants also dropped out of the top ten, from 10th to 11th.
The Rams are the biggest mover of the week, rising up from 24th to 18th.
The 49ers fell one spot despite easily beating the Cardinals.
The Cardinals received one last place ranking (from SB Nation) for their recent struggles , making the Panthers no longer the unanimous worst team.
