Christie Lobbies Stern for New Team

It's tough to bet against tough-talking New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie. However, I suspect his push to get a new NBA team to replace the Nets (who plan to head to Brooklyn before the 2012-13 season) won't be quite as successful as his moves to cut his state's budget. Considering the financial straits the league faces and the possibility of contraction, an expansion team seems out of the question. Plus, other cities (Seattle) would probably be higher in the pecking order if a team were to move.

Of course, if he mistakes the NBA commissioner for a teachers' union official at a town hall, all bets are off.
