Top of NCAA Polls Remain Unchanged
The top five in the RCS NCAA Poll Averages remains
unchanged, with LSU as the unanimous top team and Alabama as the unanimous
number two. And, you may have heard, those two are playing each other this
weekend in Tuscaloosa.
Nebraska moved up six spots to join the top ten, rising from
14th to 8th after beating Michigan State. And after being
out of the rankings Ohio State shot back in with their win over Wisconsin and
up to 29th.
Texas A&M saw the big plummet of the week, dropping from
15th to 28th after losing to Missouri. Texas Tech also
fell down the rankings from 21st to 36th after being
rocked by Iowa State. (It should be noted that many of the lower ranked teams
this week were not ranked whatsoever in the AP or Coaches poll. Teams not
ranked in those polls or not in the top 40 of the computer rankings or blogpoll
were given a default value of 41. For example Texas Tech was only ranked by the
blogpoll (at 34th) and not the other polls but still came in at 36th
overall.)
Of course there is the one huge matchup this week, but it's not the only showdown between teams in the top 40.
