Ubaldo Jimenez makes history with no-hitter

Wow.

Before tonight, no Rockies pitcher had ever thrown a no-hitter.  Blame the mile-high altitude, the lack of pitching talent, whatever you want to blame, but the Rockies had the black mark of never having pitched a no-hitter.

Ubaldo Jimenez changed all that tonight with a dominating performance against the Braves, in what's becoming a typical Ubaldo performance.  The Braves did draw six walks, but aside from that, they did nothing.  Zilch.  No hits, seven strikeouts.  He was dominating with his fastball all night.

So Ubaldo (don't you just love how we can refer to Rockies pitchers on a first-name basis?) moves to 3-0 on the season with a 1.29 ERA.  Yes, 1.29.  If this guy isn't in the Cy Young conversation, he should be.

Great night to be a Rockies fan.
