France v. Uruguay -- Good For a Snooze

Has there ever been a more boring talented team than France?

This was, in fact, the France and Uruguay of the qualifiers. France can defend but its offense is so out of sync and dysfunctional that it seems incapable of scoring more than a goal a game, if that. Meanwhile, Uruguay has two of the best strikers in the world but designing an offense that gets them the ball in positions in which they can convert seems beyond them too. The result? 0-0.

France at least always has the potential to improve. But we've said it before and will say it again: We don't see Uruguay threatening anyone at this tournament.
