At the start of every baseball season, the so-called "experts" make their picks for division winners. Then 162 games are played, six months pass and no one really remembers who Peter Gammons picked to win the NL East (it was the Mets).
Well one site, whereistand.com, isn't letting them off the hook quite so quickly.
Before the 2009 MLB season began, whereIstand users researched and submitted the predictions of 65 sports media personalities for which teams would win each of the six MLB divisions. Predictions were categorized and ranked based on their accuracy. Teams were awarded points based on their division standing and then added together. The higher score, the more accurate they were.Points were awarded based on where teams finished: "Picks for a first place team net 12 points and points for second, third, fourth and fifth place teams are weighted on a scale of depreciating value based on how many games back they finish." Then they were compiled together each "expert" was given a score. Your big winner: Fox Sports' Kevin Kennedy, who correctly got five of the six divisions (he had Cubs winning the NL Central).

Other notables include Peter King (who for some reason was picking baseball) at No. 4, Ken Rosenthal at No. 8, Bob Ryan at No. 24, Will Leitch at No. 38, and Gammons at No. 47.
Rick Hummel of the St. Louis Dispatch picked the Rays, Indians, A's, Mets, Cubs and Diamondbacks. He finished dead last.
