The Hendrick camp today said they are not going to file an appeal on the penalties received by Jeff Gordon and Jimmy Johnson. They stated they want to put their energy towards the cars instead. Jeff Meendering who is the car chief for Jeff Gordon is going to be the replacement crew chief for six weeks. Ron Malec who is the car chief for Jimmy Johnson is going to be the replacement crew chief for six weeks.

Scenedaily.com says that Nextel is not going to be used as part of new Sprint campaign that is going to start this weekend.

The big news from Roush Racing today is that Lumber Liquidators and Gillette are going to be the sponsors on the Carl Edwards car this weekend.

Aric Almirola states that he hopes to race full time in the Busch Series next year and that he is sticking with Joe Gibbs Racing.
