Three-peat for Edwards.

Carl Edwards looks to bust open his big lead big time tonight in Nashville for the Federated Auto parts 300. Kevin Harvick who is second place in the points is not in the race tonight.  Taking the poll for the Saturday Night race is Steve Wallace.

After the caution come out late on lap one a long green flag run occurred.  The caution was for Kertus Davis who got into Kyle Krisiloff.  Also involved in the caution was David Reutimann and Eric McClure.  During the long green flag run Clint Bowyer led for around 43 laps until Scott Wimmer took the lead of the race around lap 49.  Green Flag pits started around lap 62 and in a couple more laps Bobby Santos spins out into the grass trying to get to pit road to bring out caution two on the night.

After the drop of the green flag again another long green flag run with Clint Bowyer occurs.  Scott Wimmer took the lead again on lap 106 and then a few more laps go by and Marcos Ambrose blows up.  He stated that he tried to get out the car as fast as he can.

Leaders pit and Clint Bowyer wins the lead off pit road.  Carl Edwards was finally able to get his first lead of the race on lap 121 and then around lap 136 and Kevin Conway spins out.  Carl Edwards pits, but Scott Wimmer does not and takes over the lead of the race.

The next caution comes out on lap 152 for Richard Johns as he hits the wall.  Leaders pit, but the driver in the lead at the drop of the green flag wan Stephen Leicht.  Carl Edwards restated around 11th spot and picked off a few cars just into turn one.

He keeps the lead of the race until 60 laps to go. He takes his car behind the wall.  He stated that he did not know what was wrong with the car.

With 59 to go Clint Bowyer retakes the lead of the race.  With 50 laps left Carl Edwards has finally moved up to the second place spot.  With around 33 laps to go he takes the lead of the race and busts out to an over 2-second lead with no one could stop.

With four laps to go Dave Blaney had to come in for a splash of fuel.  He was in the top ten at the time.

Edward’s win marks his third win in a row at this track and also his second Busch Series win in a row this year.

Pierre Kuttel who is the crew chief for Carl Edwards said that he did not really know what makes Edwards so good at this kind of a racetrack.

Carl Edwards stated that on the last pit stop a lug nut fell off.

“The car was good,” said Clint Bowyer who finished in second.  He also stated the car needed to be a bit looser in and that he wanted a caution late.

“Really close,” said Scott Wimmer on winning a race.  He also said the car was too loose at the end.  He finished the race in fourth.

“Had a great racecar,” said Reagn Smith who finished in fifth.

“Today was just really tight,” said Todd Kluever who finished in eighth. “Nice to get a top ten finish”.

Carl Edwards started the day 472 points ahead of Kevin Harvick who was in second place and ended the night 662 points ahead of Kevin Harvick who is still second place in points.  Dave Blaney falls back 745 points in third and David Reutimann moves up to fourth, but 811 points back to Carl.
