Reed Sorenson picks up his first career poll at Indy. Sitting on the front row is his teammate Juan Pablo Montoya. It is the first time ever that Chip Gnassi has cars starting 1-2 on the field.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. stated that he lost around 3 tenths in the last corner. Dale is going to start 4th.
"We picked up a lot from practice," said Jamie McMurray. He will start 15th.
"Had a good car all day," said Kasey Kahne. He also stated that this is first time this year he had a top 10-15 car. Kasey will start 5th
Ryan Newman stated it was a "last ditch effort" in order to get his car on the poll. Kurt qualified in 6th.
"Napa Auto Parts car fun to drive," said Terry Labonte. Terry will start the race dead last.
"Not quite what we wanted," said Kurt Busch. He will start 7th.
"struggling to get any speed out of the Dewalt Fusion Ford," said Matt Kenseth. Matt will start in 31st spot.
"Definitely an uphill battle," said Joe Nemechek on qualifying for this race. "Just Gotta hit my marks." His qualifying of 179.340 MPH was not enough to get him in the field.
Going home this week is AJ Allmendinger, Dale Jarrett, Kevin Lepage, Kenny Wallace, Joe Nemechek, and Jeremy Mayfield.
