In major news announced on NASCAR Now by David Newton DEI and Ginn Racing are going to merge. Official news is not out, but he did say Ginn Racing is now not an official team. Only Mark Martin from Ginn Racing is going to be driving this weekend at Indy. No news on what is going to happen to Regan Smith and Aric Almirola.
David Newton also reported that Budweiser is still talking to Ray Evernham to sponsor the Kasey Kahne Car. Kasey Kahne has yet to speak to Budweiser.
The NTSB still says the cause is unclear as to what happened in the plane crash. They did find several breaks in the twin-engine Cessna 310's right wing and fuselage control cables.
NASCAR.com has a report up starting that Joe Nemechek may drive the 08 car for E&M Motorsports this weekend at Indy.
In other related Joe Nemechek news the Sirius Speedway show announced today that Ginn Racing has come to an agreement to sell the #13 cars points to DEI so that Paul Menard is locked into the Brickyard 400. No official announcement yet. The #14 car points may get sold to Furniture Row Racing the show states.
In a press release from Petty Enterprises today John Andretti is going to be doing some announcing for the IMS network for the Allstate 400 race this weekend. He was going to be the driver of the 08 car this weekend.
Rusty Wallace is thinking about selling some of his Busch Series team. He has to do this at this point of time or he can't be do both his announcing job and own a Sprint Cup team. This person says it is a bad thing to do and needs to stick just to Busch Series for now.
43 cars are entered in the Busch Series race with only six double dippers. Even though though the O'reilly Raceway Park is so close to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Kevin Harvick takes another week off from racing.
