The Pit Stop

The Daytona 500 must always start first.

I do not know if this link is right, but they say that close door sessions have taken place about moving the Daytona 500 to November. I do think these talks occur from time to time.

This move is ultra risky and one of the dumbest moves they can make.

NASCAR needs to stand with tradition here for this February event, something that Bill France Sr. would want for this race. To me moving it to November kills tradition.

The race in February helps make NASCAR different and is a good thing.

This is something that you just can’t do with other sports like baseball and the NFL.

Cars spent weeks getting ready for the Daytona 500. To me it just wont be the same doing it for some other track for the first race of the season.

With the Chase format in place it does make it better to do this. So far no blowout wins in the Chase format with one race to go so far, but anything can happen. No better way to kill the Daytona 500 with a blowout lead for the final race, but if the COT cars can still bring out a big wreck at Daytona it might keep people around for the race.

It would spice up the chase big time if this was to occur, but what race would start first??? The last couple of years it has been out in California which could easily do, but none are any bigger and better than starting off with Daytona. If California starts first do they get to host the Budweiser shootout as well????

In conclusion, NO NO NO to the change of Daytona 500 race to November.

Okay posters, do you agree with me???
