ESPN is reporting that Kyle Busch, who is leaving Hendrick Motorsports at the end of the year to make room for Dale Earnhardt Jr, will indeed be moving to the 18 car fielded by Joe Gibbs Racing in 2008. The car's current driver, J.J. Yeley will be released.
After a strong start, Yeley's second year in Nextel Cup has taken a downward spiral. In his last three starts, he has failed to finish higher than 30th. While his teammates, Tony Stewart and Denny Hamlin are both solidly in the Chase, Yeley sits at 21st in points with just one top 10 finish.
The car will keep it's long time sponsor, Interstate Batteries.
An official announcement from Kyle and JGR is expected within the next few weeks.
