Kasey Kahne wins Bud Pole at Bristol

The way Kasey Kahne's year has been going, he needed to hear some good news. He heard it today after he ran a 16.016 second lap around the Bristol Motor Speedway and won his second Bud Pole of the season. He will start from P1 when the green flag is dropped in the Sharpie 500 on Saturday night.

On one of the toughest tracks on the circuit, two rookies will inhabit the top 5. Chip Ganassi Racing's Juan Pablo Montoya qualified second and Roush-Fenway Racing's David Ragan will start fourth.

Dave Blaney in the number 22 Bill Davis effort rounds out the first handful of cars.

Michael Waltrip turned in another strong qualifying run. For a second consecutive week, he will be starting from within the top 20.

Sterling Marlin, Kevin Lepage, Stanton Barrett and Waltrip's teammate, David Reutimann are amongst those who did not put together such a strong qualifying run. They will not race tomorrow night.
