Robby Gordon, Patrick Carpentier news and more...

Robby Gordon today has picked up a 35 grand fine and put on probation until the end of the year for his actions at the Busch Series race from Montreal. He will also get suspended indefinitely if he disrupts another race this year. I was looking for a points penalty as well, but did not get it.

After his second place finish this weekend at Montreal, Patrick Carpentier is going to be driving in place of the Scott Riggs car this weekend in the NEXTEL Cup race. The car is out of the top 35 in points at this point of time.

In a DEI PR Regan Smith is going to be in the 01 car this weekend at Watkins Glen.

The Wood Brothers' team is just not ready yet to move Marcos Ambrose to the next level yet.

The BAM team has picked up Lifelock as a sponsor.

NASCAR Now Note:

Robby Gordon wants to give Marcos Ambros a ride in the Nextel Cup race this weekend in a second car. No word yet if Marcos Ambros has accepted this offer.
