Jimmy Johnson-5060 points- 1st place.
This driver is one of the hottest drivers on the racetrack today with 2 wins in a row. His team looks consistent enough that he could take the title this year.
Jeff Gordon-5040 points-2nd place.
He has four wins this year. I just do not think he is going to be consistent enough to win the title this year now.
Tony Stewart-5030 points-3rd place.
Another driver I think has the team that could win the title this year. The 30-point difference is nothing for this driver.
Carl Edwards-5020 points-4th place.
I do not see him with the title this year. His Busch Series season will keep him too busy to win the NEXTEL Cup title.
Kurt Busch-5020 points-4th place.
Made a mad dash late to get in a solid position to be in the chase. Would not be surprised if he won the title this year.
Denny Hamlin-5010 points-6th place.
It we be close, but no cigar for this driver. I just do not see him with any chance for the title this year. Inexperience is going to hurt him this year.
Martin Truex Jr.-5010 points-6th place
No championship for him, could easily wind up 12th in points at the end of the season. Inexperience is going to hurt him as well this year.
Matt Kenseth-5010 points-6th place
No championship for him this year and no more free fries from Arby’s from Nextel races this year either. He is not going to be that super consistent in the final ten races imo.
Kyle Busch-5010 points-6th place.
No championship from him. He will have problems finishing some of the final races this year killing any shot at the title for him.
Jeff Burton-5010 points-6th place
Getting the logo problem behind them will help this team out big time. I think they will come close to winning the title, but not get it.
Kevin Harvick-5010 points-6th place
Another driver that I think is going to have some problems finishing some of the final races which will cause him to not win the title this year.
Clint Bowyer-5000 points-12th place.
I think he can make up the 60-point difference without winning one race and be a contender for the title this year.
