Dodge News, John Salley, Ratings, and more....

In ratings news from the Daytona 500 had a 10.2/20 household rating/share and averaged 17.8 million viewers which was slightly better than a year ago at 10.1/20 and 17.5 million viewers.

Ryan Newman picks up over 1.5 million for the Daytona 500 win, but since he won the race in a Dodge that company is also going to throw in an extra 1 million in award money to Ryan.

Also in Dodge news the company has signed a multi year deal with the teams of Penske and Chip Gnassi.

Fomer NBA star John Salley now wants to own a Sprint Cup Team.

This Speed TV link says that Michael “Fatback” McSwain is looking to do TV work.

At the end of the 2008 season Bill Elliott says that he is permanently retired from racing.
