Carl Edwards, A.J. Allmendinger news and more...

Although Carl Edwards won the race yesterday his car failed post-race inspection. The lid on his oil tank was off and penalties will be coming for this infraction.

Las Vegas Motor Speedway officials are looking at the wall that Jeff Gordon hit.

Red Bull Racing is considering pulling A.J. Allmendinger from his car due to his poor showing this year. He has not made one race this year. His teammate Brian Vickers has made all three races this year so far.

UPDATE: At the end of the NASCAR Now show they said Mike Skinner is going to drive the #84 car that A.J. drives.

Overnight ratings for the Las Vegas race are in and it shows that the ratings are up over 12% from last year to a 6.2 rating from the 5.5 rating the race got last year.

So far 43 cars are listed for the Nationwide series race this weekend. 48 cars so far are listed for the Sprint Cup race.
