NASCAR has come down on Carl Edwards and his team big time. Carl looses 100 points including the 10 points he got for the win of the race. The car Owner Jack Roush also get a 100 point fine. The Crew chief Bob Osborne gets a 100 grand fine and also gets suspended for six races as well. All this for an oil tank lid that was not on right after the race.
If the point penalty sticks he moves down to 7th place in the standings.
Chris Andrews is going to be the crew chief for Carl Edwards for now and Robbie Reiser is also going to be on the pit box.
In other news Valvoline is going to be the sponsor for Robby Gordon this weekend at the Kobalt Tools 500. Also no word yet from NASCAR if any of his penalties from Daytona have been reduced.
UPDATE: On the Nascar Now show Marty Smith says that the 100 points penalty has been rescinded for Robby Gordon, but the money fine has been increased to 150,000 grand from 100,000. This now puts him 21st in the points.
Darlington Raceway has completed a repaving of the race track surface at part of a 10 million project on the race track.
