Toyota officials announced that Jim Aust who helped get Toyota into the Sprint Cup series is going to retire in June.

Rusty Wallace Racing wins its appeal against NASCAR.   Wallace’s No. 64 team was penalized 25 Nationwide Series owner points and driver David Stremme was given a 25-point driver penalty.  The crew chief Steve Darne was suspended for six races and  also picked up a 15 grand fine for actions detrimental to stock-car racing and for parts that did not conform to the NASCAR rules. NASCAR thought they had an oil tank cover that was no on right.

Gillett Evernhman Motorsports right now has a verbal agreement for a major sponsor for the Patrick Carpentier car.

Kevin Harvick Inc. crew chief Charlie Wilson who picked up a 15,000 buck fine at Daytona has now gotten his fine dropped down to 5 grand.
