2008 team rankings so far...

Okay readers it is around the middle of race to make it to the chase and I am going to through out my team rankings so far.

Yates Racing: A rating.

This team is doing the most with the least.  Travis Kvapil has come out numerous times with no sponsor on the car only to pull a top 20 finish.  David Gilliland is not stinking up the joint either.  This team has exceed expectations big time.

Joe Gibbs: A- rating.

They have all three drivers in the chase and the leader in points Kyle Busch is off to one amazing start attempting to run in as many races as possible in all three series.  Denny Hamlin as of late has not been super hot at all, but they have shown that Toyota cars are not junk at all.

Richard Childress: B+ rating.

Jeff Burton, Kevin Harvick, and Clint Bowyer are have great seasons so far.  Jeff and Clint already have a win so far.

Roush Fenway Racing: B rating

They have Carl Edwards and Greg Biffle in the top five in points, but Matt Kenseth and Jamie McMurray have not had a super hot season.  They do have a surprise in David Ragan who was in the chase at one point of time this season.  They also had Carl Edwards picking up a massive penalty earlier in the season.

Hendrick Motorsports:  B- rating

Dale Jr. has been the only really consistent in this whole team this season while Jeff Gordon and Jimmy Johnson have started off the season very slowly.  Jeff Gordon still has not won a race all season yet.

DEI: B- rating.

The have a chase worthy driver in Martin Truex Jr. and getting some solid part time driving from Mark Martin.  Even Aric Almirola popped in a top 10 ranking from them.  Paul Menard though is not having a solid season at all for them. Not a bad season from them so far.

Penske Racing: C+ rating

They have a chase worthy driver in Ryan Newman who has the Daytona 50 win, but Sam Hornish Jr. has struggled along with Kurt Busch to having solid seasons.

Gillett Evernham Racing:  C+ rating.

Kasey Kahne is chase worthy and has one big win this season at the Coca-Cola 600, but Elliott Sadler and Patrick Carpentier are dragging the total team down.  Both of them are not hot and Patrick is out of the top 35 in points.

Petty Enterprises: C rating

Bobby Labonte at time has shown that this team can have cars that can pull in top ten finishes, but Kyle Petty have been real poor this year and not even in the 35 in points.

Chip Gnassi: C- rating

They have no chase worthy driver at this time.  Juan Pablo Montoya is their best hope at a win, but has gone through some crew chief changes. Dario Franchitti has been cold all season long and has been out with a injury this season.  Reed Sorenson has not lived up to potential at all.

Red Bull Racing: C- rating.

Has Brian Vickers who can showcase at times a quality ride from this team, but the other car they own has gone through a driver change and the regular driver of the car A.J. Allmendinger has been pretty much cold all season long.

Robby Gordon Motorsports: D+ rating.

Robby is very low in the standings, but has showcased that he can pull off a top ten finish a couple times this year.Bill Davis Racing: D+ racing:

They have only Dave Blaney as a driver who has showcased a couple of top ten finishes, but is still very low in the standings.

Michael Waltrip Racing: D rating.

The team at times has showcased they can bring quality cars to the track, but they have been very inconsistent this year.  Poor season from them on the Sprint Cup side.

Furniture Row Racing: D- rating.

The main car driven by Joe Nemechek has not made all the races this season and no really good finishes for him at all.

Hall Of Fame Racing: D- rating.

Driver J.J. Yeley has not made all the races this season and is out of the top 35 in points.  Very poor season from this team and driver.

Hass CNC racing: D-- rating

Almost gets the F rating.  They have driver Scott Riggs who made all the races, but the other car has had driver swaps.  Getting the biggest penalty even thrown at you never helps your rating at all.

Wood Brothers: F rating

Although they have carted out Bill Elliott for some races this season his best finish has been a 26th place one.  Really bad season for this low end team.
