A few double dippers made their way from Sonoma to take part in the Camping World RV Rental 250 Nationwide Series race. In qualifying that occurred earlier in the day Brad Keselowski took the poll for the race. This is also going to the first race with Drew Blickensderfer as the new crew chief for Carl Edwards.
Landon Cassill says that he you have roll the bottom of the racetrack. Cale Gale stated that it will be good in race trim. “Good in race trim,” said Joey Logano.
At the drop of the green flag it was Brad Keselowski in the lead until the first caution came out on lap 19 for the spinning cars of Brad Coleman and Mike Wallace. Clint Bowyer and Carl Edwards made a gigantic move from back. Carl got all the way up to around 16th place by the time the caution came out.
The led to a longer green flag run that lasted with Brad in the lead until the caution came out on lap 54 for a Savid Stremme spin. Carl Edwards during this time never really moved up.
That caution brought the leaders and Brad Keselowski won the race off pit road. During this green flag run Mike Bliss was able to get the lad of race for a while un Brad took the lead of the race again. The next caution came out for Travis Kittelson.
The leaders pit again and James Buescher led the cars of pit road by just taking fuel only. At the drop of the green flag Brad Keselowski quickly passed James for the lead of the race. The caution finally came out on lap 149 for the spinning car of Colin Braun.
The leaders pit and this Brad barely beat Joey for the lead off pit road with Scott Wimmer in third. Green flag racing did not long and with 95 laps to go David Stremme crashes his car. “The car wasn’t right from the beginning,” said David. He said that there are a bunch of idiots in the back of the field.
With 86 laps to go Colin Braun smacks the wall hard and brings out another caution. At the drop of the green flag Brad and Joey got a great jump over the third place car of Carl Edwards. Joey made one attempt at the lead it and it did not work. A couple more laps go by and it worked, but Joey wound up hitting Brad sending him back to fifth spot.
At fifty laps to go Joey had an almost 2.5 second lead over Carl in second while David Ragan was in third. The next caution flag finally came out with 45 laps to go. During pits Steven Wallace takes on two tires and takes the lead of the race. Carl Edwards came out second with Clint Bowyer in third.
At the drop of the green it did not take long for Carl Edwards to take the lead of the race with Carl getting the lead while Steven made it three wide for a few seconds. That helped Clint to get the lead of the race from Carl.
Travis Kittelson brought out another caution as he smacked it into the wall with 30 laps to go. The leaders stay out. At the drop of the green flag Clint Bowyer got wiggly twice which caused both Carl Edwards and Joey Logano to pass Clint.
In a couple of more laps Chase Miller spins out to bring out the caution. The green flag drops and Carl gets a good restart. With 10 laps left the lead was around .750 seconds big. Carl was able to cruise on for his first win of the year.
“I got under him(Clint Bowyer) and hit him,” said Carl Edwards. “Really felt bad going that long,” he said on his yearlong plus winless streak.
Clint Bowyer stated that he was not so happy with Carl and his driving at the end of the race.
“Was not the best on new tires,” said Joey Logano who finished in secind.
Clint Bowyer at the end of the race has a 188 points lead over brad Keselowski. 190 points back is David Reutimann in third.
