The Pit Stop

Kyle Ties Sam Ard.

Kyle Busch tied a Nationwide Series record today at the O'reilly Challenge today as he won his tenth race tying him with Sam Ard for most wins in one season in the Nationwide series.

Carl Edwards started the race on the poll.

At the drop of the green flag Kevin Harvick was able to get the lead of the race.  Kyle Busch started to move to the front and took the lead of the race on lap 23.  Then Kyle started to bust out into a 2-second plus lead.  Green flag racing continued and around lap 48 and Donnie Neuenberger crashes to bring out the first caution.

The leaders pit and Kyle Busch wins the race off pit road.

Brian Vickers who went behind the wall for a broken part said that he did not want to go out their to wreck a good car and that he is not racing for points.

The green flag drops and Kyle breaks out to another 2-second plus lead.   Clint Bowyer slowly starts to move up to second place.  Green flag continued and the first round of green flag pit stops started with 90 laps left.

Then in a few laps the caution came out again.

Kyle Busch kept the lead after the green flag dropped again and he busted out to another good sized lead again.  With 52 laps left it was Kyle Busch in the lead with Carl Edwards in second and Clint Bowyer in third.

In the next lap the third caution of the day comes out. The leaders pit and Kyle Busch wins the race again with Joey Logano in second.

Kyle again busts out to another sizeable lead while Kevin Harvick quickly moves up the field and into the top 10.  Green flag racing continued until the next caution came out for a Juan Pablo Montoya with 21 laps left.

This brought in the leaders again.  Kyle Busch was able to lead the cars off pit road again with Mark Martin and his two-tire stop coming out in second.  Kevin Harvick though broke an axel leaving pit road.

Kyle was to break out to a good sized lead yet again and then with 11 laps left Just Allgaier spins out to bring out the caution.

The green flag drops with seven laps left.  Carl Edwards starts to make his move and passes Clint Bowyer on the outside and he marches right on up to second place.  Carl was gaining up really fast on Kyle but ran out of time as Kyle goes on to win the race.

"It means a whole lot," said Kyle Busch on tying Sam Ard for 10 wins.  He stated that he was going to give 100 grand to Sam.

"Ford Fusion was great, said Carl Edwards.  He stated that he needed a couple more laps to pass Kyle.

Clint Bowyer said his car got tight their in the end.  He wound up finishing sixth.

Carl Edwards at the end of the race was able to climb back to 91 points back of Clint Bowyer for the championship.
