GM, Gillette Evernham Racing, Elliott Sadler, and other small news bites

Gillette Evernham Racing now makes it official that they are going to merge with Petty Enterprises.  The link says they are going to field four teams, but one car will be in eight races or more depending on sponsorship.  It also says that Ray Evernham still has a minority stake in the new team.

Foxsports.com now writes that Elliott Sadler is going to be back in the #19 car.  This link says noting about what happens to A.J. Allmendinger.

GM has announced that they are going to extend the sponsorship for the February Daytona 500 at a cheaper price.  This is only a one year deal though.

The Nationwide Series Car of Tomorrow is on track for 2010, but could wind up getting delayed if the economy still sucks.

Aaron's is going to be the sponsor for 18 races for Ken Butler III and the R3 Motorsports car he drives.

NextEra Energy Resources is going to the sponsor for the Daytona Camping World Truck Series race in February.
