Daytona International Speedway is going to get a 20 million dollar resurfacing in three years.  it will be the first time it has been done since 1978.

Ryan Newman has changed an engine so he is going to start in the back for his Gatorade 150 qualifier.   Also going to the back due to crashing is Michael Waltrip and Jamie McMurray

Julliane Hough is going to sing the National Anthem at the Daytona 500.

Eddie Smith is joining forces with former boxer Evander Holyfield to start a Nationwide Series team with the left over stuff from the Chip Ganassi team that is canceled.   The team is called Smith-Ganassi Racing for now and hopes to do a full season with Kenny Hendrick as the driver.

Atlanta Motor Speedway is going to have a special promotion to sell some seats at a discount. Tickets that did go for 95 bucks could go for as low as one buck, but no more than 50 bucks depedning on the car that wins the Daytona 500.
