Rusty Wallace and some other news..

NASCAR.com with an article out on Rusty Wallace wanting to do some Sprint Cup racing with the help of Richard Childress Racing.

After the Nationwide Series race was over the front spring from the JD Motorsports' No. 0 Chevrolet driven by Danny O'Quinn was take away and the ballast from Mike Harmon Racing's No. 84 Chevrolet due to rules violation. A ballast is some weight that can be shifted around for some chassis balance.

NASCAR Hotpass is now free for 2009.

Mahindra USA Tractors is going to be an associate sponsor for the #36 Tommy Baldwin Racing Team car at the Daytona 500.

Afternoon update:

Rain today could be a factor on when the Daytona 500 race finishes today.

Kyle Petty says that he is not happy at all on the merger with Gillett Evernham Motorsports and is really not happy at the use  of the #44 car number.
