Brad Keselwoski wins in shock finish

Sprint Cup drivers made it to Talladega for another round of restrictor plate race. It was Juan Pablo Montoya on the poll for this race.

"More reliant on a push then ever before," said Mark Martin.  David Ragan said he was good enough to do it on a win today.

Drivers tried to avoid the big one, but it came early as it came out on lap 7.  The wreck started when it got four wide and a Matt Kenseth bump caused Jeff Gordon to spin out which collected Casey Mears, Jamie McMurray, David Gilliland, Clint Bowyer, Kevin Harvick, Kurt Busch, David Gilliland, Scott Riggs, Brian Vickers, Mark Martin, A.J. Allmendinger and Kasey Kahne.  It wound putting nine cars behind the wall.

"I don't know what happened," said Clint Boyer. "Not sure what happened," said Jeff Gordon.  "Pretty big accident," said Jamie McMurray.  "Saw Jeff Gordon get sideways," said Kevin Harvick.  "Its pretty torn up," said Kasey Kahne on his car.

At lap 28 it was Jeff Burton with some engine problems and went onto pit road, he did not stop and on lap 29 a debris caution came out.  He went three extra laps down to fix his problems.

The next caution popped out on lap 43 as Michael Waltrip takes a wild ride at the end of pit road, but somehow does not hit the wall at all. At lap 60 another caution occurs in the same area for Kurt Busch.

At lap 85 it was the second caution of the day for debris.  This put Jeff Burton only one lap down.

Around lap 110 the cars of Dale Jr. and Jeff Burton hook up to create a 2 second plus lead ahead of the rest of the cars. The lead did not last long though and in a few laps Martin Truex Jr. had the lead.

At lap 113 it was Reed Sorenson with tire problems, but did not bring out the caution.  At lap 124 it was yet another debris caution.

With 56 laps left it was David Ragan almost causing another big one as he got shoved up the track.  Then on the next lap it was Brad Keselowki almost causing it as he got out of the groove.

With 46 laps left it was Jeff Burton in the lead of the race.

The debris caution comes out with 42 laps left.  It was for a cover that popped off one of the caution lights.  Dale Jr. was in the lead at the time of the caution.  The leaders pitted and it was Kurt Busch in the lead of the race.

More jockeying for the lead and with 33 laps left it was Kyle Busch in the lead with Dale Jr. in second.  Then it got single file for a while.  With 17 laps left it got two wide up front with Matt Kenseth up top and Kyle Busch on the bottom.  Jeff Burton hits Kyle Busch and gets squirmy, tried to save it, but did not and spins out.  Martin Truex Jr. in the back winds up also with a single car spin with some help from David Ragan.

The green flag drops with 13 laps left with Matt Kenseth in the lead of the race.   Ryan Newman and Denny Hamlin back around 10th hook up together big time and on the outside pass all the cars in front of them and Ryan is back in the lead.  Denny then drops like a rock back to around 10th.

With only nine laps left it was the second big one occurs.  Jeremy Mayfield, Jimmie Johnson, Juan Pablo Montoya, Robby Gordon, David Stremme, Michael Waltrip, Bobby Labonte, and Denny Hamlin got involved.  Denny caused this as he bumped into Juan spun him out.

"It sucks racing here," said Jimmie Johnson.

The green flag drops with four laps left and Tony Stewart wind up going real slow.  Brad Keselowski pushes the car of Carl Edwards to the lead of the race at the start/finish line on the final lap.

Getting into the final part of the lap Brad goes down low to attempt to make the pass on Carl Edwards.  Edwards goes for a block, but wind up going air born.  Carl then takes out the hood of the Ryan Newman car and Ryan then smacks the fence hard.  Carl winds up going so high he hits the fence sending debris from his car everywhere and lands his car before the start/finish line.

Carl though was easily able to get out of his car and ran to the start/finish line.

"This is the best show on earth," said Brad Keselwoski. "I don't want to wreck a guy."  "Nothing else I could do."

"I could not see what happened on the front straight away," said Dale Jr. on the final lap wreck.  He finished the race in second.

"He(Brad Keselowki) was so quick I did not know he was inside," said Carl Edwards. "We'll race like this until we kill somebody and then we'll change it."

Kurt Busch picks up the points lead after the end of the race, but it is only a five point lead over Jeff Gordon.
