Joey Logano stays out long enough to win the race.

Rain killed qualifying for the Lenox Industrial Tools 301 putting Tony Stewart back on the poll for the Sunday Race. NASCAR before the race decided to throw out a competition yellow at lap 35 to check for tire wear.

Rain though could become a factor in this race.

"We don't know what we have," said Denny Hamlin.  Tony Stewart stated that he has a package that is really good for today.  Juan Pablo Montoya said that we have a lot of momentum to our side.

The early part of the race wound up to be caution filled.  Lap 16 saw Patrick Carpentier crash into the wall hard.  This caution brought mainly cars in the back to the pits for tire service.

The next caution came out on lap 22 for Jamie McMurray and his crashing car.  Then at lap 27 it was A.J. Allmendinger spinning out his car to bring out the caution on the next lap.  We finally got the late competition yellow on lap 46.

This brought in all the cars on the lead lap.  Jeff Gordon with two tires win the race of pit road.  At the green flag dropped it was Jimmie Johnson on lap 50 getting the lead of the race.

At lap 60 it was the cars of Robby Gordon and Michael Waltrip spun out.  After this caution we finally get the first long green flag run of the day.  Jimmie Johnson during this time was putting a whole bunch of cars one lap down and on lap 118 saw the first green flag pit stops of the day.

At alp 123 it was Juan Pablo Montoya getting the lead of the race and he kept it until he stopped on lap 130.  Jimmie finally got the lead back on lap 133.  Green flag racing continued until lap 152 and then a debris caution finally came out.

This brought in all the leaders and Jeff Gordon was able to barely beat out Kurt Busch for the lead of the race.  At the drop of the green flag it got three wide for the lead, but it was Jeff Gordon winning the lead.

At lap 169 it was Paul Menard crashing hard into the wall to bring out the next caution. This put Joey Logano back on the lead lap.  The green flag drops and a big wreck occurs as Dale Jr. gets a slow restart which causes Kyle Busch to bump into Martin Treux Jr.  Martin spins taking out David Ragan, Kevin Harvick, Kasey Kahne, Jeff Burton, and Clint Boyer.  This caution brought out the first red flag of the day.

Kevin Harvick stated that cars were just wrecking ahead of us.  Martin Truex stated that he did not know what happened in front of him and that Kyle just did not want to lift.  "We ran really well today," said Jeff Burton.

The race restarted on lap181 and in two laps the caution came out again for Joey Logano as a tire blew on his car.   The restart was another wild one which saw some more crazy racing for the lead.  Jimmie Johnson wound up getting loose and had to drop back to ninth.

At lap 189 it was Scott Speed crashing to bring out the caution and put Joey Logano back on the lead lap.

After the green flag dropped this time it was Tony Stewart getting to lead the race with Jeff Gordon in second.  Jimmie Johnson was slowly moving up the field.  At lap 220 Carl Edwards come down for an early pit stop due to a loose wheel, it did put him the only car one lap down in 29th spot.

Lap 234 though saw Kyle Busch in for a pit stop. Then on the next lap the leader and cars right behind him came down for their green flag stop.  Tony Stewart wound up with lug nut problems on his put stop.

Bobby Labonte wound up leading some laps during this time and he came in 53 laps left putting Ryan Newman in the lead of the race.   With 40 laps left Michael Waltrip pits and gives up his second place spot. With 38 laps left Ryan Newman pits due to running out of fuel.  This put Joey Logano in the lead.  His car wound up with massive trouble restarting.

With 35 laps left the caution for rain finally comes out.  This brought out the second red flag with 27 laps left and the rain started to fall down harder. Around 15 minutes later he winds up winning the race as NASCAR calls the race official.  The win makes him the youngest driver ever win a NASCAR race.

During the rain delay David Reutimann said to Joey to not leave the car.

"We had nothing to loose," said Joey Logano.  He stated that he struggled a bit in practice.

Jeff Gordon was stating that he did not know Joey was ahead of him.

Kurt Busch stated that he gave his restarts an F.

Tony Stewart still kept the lead in points over Jeff Gordon by 69 points at the end of this race.
