August 23, 2009 4:17 AM

Kyle is back in victory lane.

Sprint Cup drivers are back at Bristol for some night racing.  Mark Martin in his 1,000 career Sprint Cup race picked up the poll for the event.

"Qualified surprisingly well," said Matt Kenseth.  Clint Boyer said that he has a good car.  Greg Biffle stated that he loves this place.  Jeff Gordon stated that he hated the way he qualified.

At the drop of the green flag Mark Martin got loose and wound up getting shuffled back to third spot.  That put Greg Biffle in the lead of the race.  Green flag racing then did not last too long and on lap 11 Joey Logano cuts a tire sending him into the wall.

During the caution period Tony Stewart gets lapped trying to fix radio problems on his car.  This led to a good green flag run with Greg Biffle leading more laps and then the caution comes out on lap 64 for Denny Hamlin who cut a tire.

This caution brought in all the leaders and Greg Biffle was able to lead the cars off pit road.   This led to another good green flag run that saw Mark Martin finally lead some green flag laps starting at lap 78.  Green flag racing then continued until lap 135 as A.J. Allmendinger winds up putting a piece of a break rotor on the race track to bring out the caution.

This caution also brought the leaders in and Mark Martin was to win the race off pit road.  Martin Truex Jr. got a penalty for exiting pit road too face, but was able to battle back from that penalty.

This was a short green flag run with Mark leading more laps and on lap 163 Bobby Labonte spins out to bring out the caution.  This led to the first real long green flag run of the night.

During this long green flag run With Mark Martin leading even more laps was Marcos Ambrose moving his way up to the third place spot.

At lap 253 saw John Andretti loose some car parts and it took a couple of laps before the caution finally came out.  This caution brought in all the leaders with Mark Martin wining the race off pit road.

The green flag drops and Mark just blows out to a quick lead.  In a eleven laps though Jimmie got to lead two laps just for the bonus points and then Mark took the lead back.

At lap 317 Jimmie Johnson was able to get the lead back as Mark was struggling to put Kasey Kahne yet another lap down.  The caution finally comes out on lap 356 for David Gilliland who crashes.

After the leaders all pitted Jimmie Johnson beat all the cars on pit road.  The green flag drops and Jimmie quickly takes the lead.  With 100 laps left Jimmie was leading Mark by over 1 second.

With 87 laps left Mother Nature decided to pop in with a little rain and brought out the caution.   Leaders did come in this time and Ryan Newman on a two-tire stop won the race off pit road.  Jimmie Johnson though made two pits stops so he can replace a tire and fell back to 21st spot.

Michael Waltrip stays out to lead laps.  With 70 laps left the green flag drops and Kyle Busch was able to win the lead of the race.  Then in the back it starts to get a bit messy as three wide and even four wide racing occurs.  This helps bring out the caution for wrecking cars including Kurt Busch, Casey Mears, and Kevin Harvick.  Kevin and his car was the only car to go behind the wall for repairs.

Kevin Harvick stated that he just wound up crashing himself.

During this caution time Tony Stewart and his car stalls and needed the wrecker to get started, but after a few laps he went behind the wall.

With 50 laps left the green flag drops.  Montoya moved into second, but then started to drop back quickly.  The caution though also came out with 42 laps left for Sam Hornish Jr. who looses his engine. Jimmie was back up to the top 15.

With 37 laps left the green flag drops and Juan still has problems and goes down pit road for tires. He came out 25th.  The next caution comes out with around 22 laps left for Martin Truex Jr. who blows a tire big time.  Jimmie was up to seventh at the time of the caution.

The green flag drops with 14 laps left and Kyle got a sold restart. With nine laps left Michael Waltrip blows a tire and crashes.  Joey Logano in the back winds up turning Clint Boyer around.   This caution brought out the red flag to clean up the mess left behind from the Michael Waltrip car.

Around 11 minutes of red flag time and the cars started up again.  With four laps left the green flag dropped.  Mark was able to stay right behind him.  Marked tried a couple times down low to get the lead, but could not pull it off as Kyle goes on to win the race.

"He(Mark Martin) deserved to win this race," said Kyle Busch.  "Good pit stops all night."

Mark Martin stated that Kyle gave him enough room.   "I couldn't do it."

"Just a really great day for us," said Marcos Ambrose.

In the race for the final spot in the chase Matt Kesneth leads Kyle Busch by 34 points.
