Jimmie Wins at Dover.

Rain fell earlier in the day, but the track was nice and dry for the start of the AAA 400.  Jimmie Johnson picked up the poll for this race earlier in the week.

"We've been fast in practice," said Juan Pablo Montoya.  "I think it is a pretty good tire," said Greg Biffle.  "We weren't the greatest in practice," said Tony Stewart.  Jimmie Johnson states that the smart guy and crew chief is going to win this race.  Jeff Gordon stated that everyone is searching for the right combination.

The green flag drops and it was Jimmie Johnson leading the first 25 laps and the competition yellow came out.  Ryan Newman taking only two tires wins the race off pit road.

The green flag drops an d we quickly get into a red flag condition due to a major wreck.  Joey Logano gets sandwiched between Bobby Labonte and Tony Stewart spinning him out.  He then goes up the track and Reed Sorenson with nowhere to go winds up hitting him and then Joey winds up flipping over a bunch of times.  Also involved was Robby Gordon and Martin Truex. Jr.   A few minutes go by and Joey walks away from the wreck.

Robby Gordon stated that he want to the high side.   "Didn't see a whole lot," said Martin Truex Jr.  Reed Sorenson stated that Bobby Labonte got checked upped somehow.  Joey Logano stated this scared the heck out of me.  "Wildest ride I ever been on."

After 20 minutes of red flag time drivers got back out on the track for more action.  The green flag dropped on lap 36 and Ryan Newman led the race until Kurt Busch took the lead on lap 58.

At lap 80 it was David Reutimann coming down pit road for more fuel.  Four laps go by and it was Michael Waltrip blowing at a tire and crashing into the wall to bring out the caution.

The leaders pit and Kurt Busch wins the race off pit road.  This led to a long green flag run where Kurt Busch led the race until lap 147 as Jimmie Johnson was able to get the lead back while Kurt was having problems lapping cars.

The caution finally comes out on lap 163 for fluids out on the racetrack.  The leaders pit again and Kurt Busch wins the race off pit road. Kurt Busch led more laps and on lap 276 it was Jimmie back in the lead of the race.  The caution finally came out at lap 207 for Kyle Busch who crashes his car.

This time after the leaders pit Jimmie Johnson won the race off pit road.  Jimmie then continued to lead more and more laps under green.   The caution finally came out around lap 271 for David Stremme who hit the wall.

After the leaders pitted Jimmie kept the lead of the race and green flag racing continued with him in the lead until a debris caution came out on lap 324.  The leaders pitted and Jimmie kept the lead of race with Mark Martin coming out in second.

Jimmie kept on lead more laps and the next caution comes out with 59 laps left.  The caution came out for the crashing car of Regan Smith which then caused in the back David Stremme, Martin Truex Jr. and Elliott Sadler to get together.

This caution brought down a couple cars including Jeff Gordon.

The green flag drops and Jimmie win the race to first place.  With 50 laps left Ryan Newman and Jeff Gordon touch.  Six laps later though and Jeff was back up to the 10th position.

The next caution comes out with 32 laps left for Sam Hornish Jr. and his spinning car.  Most of the cars on the lead lap come in for service including Tony Stewart.  Jimmie Johnson stays out to keep the lead of the race.

With 17 laps left Mark Martin moved into second place, but was over 2 seconds back of Jimmie for the lead of the race.  Martin did not have enough time as Jimmie wins the race.

"What a car," said Jimmie Johnosn.

Matt Kenseth stated the tire was nice, but it made it hard to pass.

"We did really well by finishing second," said Mark Martin.  He also stated he was a little off.

After the end of the race Mark Martin was still in the lead in points,  but by only 10 to Jimmie Johnson.
