This time I look at part time teams and or teams I feel may not go the full season, but say they are.
RCM could be the team he does some racing for in 2010. He had only two starts in 2009 with a best finish of 24th. I say he only races at best a few time in 2010 with a top twenty finish, but no top tens.
7--Robby Gordon--Robby Gordon Motorsports.
Finished 34th place in the points with one measly top five all season long. He will run the Daytona and then other races throughout the year. Monster Energy Drink will sponsor his car. I think he gets in 12 races max with no top tens, but will pick up his second Off-Road championship in a row though.
This car in 2009 had only four top ten finishes with a 21st place finish in the points. This car will not run the full season for sure. A rookie driver will be in the car for all the races it does run is my best guess. I say the car gets in no more than ten races and at best one top ten.
09--Aric Almirola--Phoenix Racing
Aric spent most of his 2009 season in the truck series where in 16 starts he got tem top tens. Miccosukee Indian Gaming could be the sponsor for this car. This car last year had various drivers in it for the 27 races it ran with one win and only three top tens. I do not see this car going the full season, but will pick up at least five top 20 place finishes and do no better than 35th place in the points.
10--Terry Cook--Whitney Motorsports
This is a whole new team for the 2010 season. Terry though did run almost a full season in the truck series in 2009 with nine top tens and a 13th place in the standings. In the Nationwide Series for 2009 he was in 20 races, but only had a best finish of 37th. I say this team does not get a full year of races in due to sponsorship problems. No top 20 place finishes either.
13-Max Papis--Germain Racing
Geico is supposed to be the sponsor of this car if it run in 2010. Max had 15 starts in 2009 with only one top ten and finished 43rd place in the points. I say if he runs he will get less than half a season in again with a shot a for two top ten finishes
21--Bill Elliott--Wood Brothers
Had 12 starts in 2009 with no top tens, but finished 42nd in the points. Motorcraft will be the sponsor for this car again. I say if he will get in 10-15 races in 2010 with at least five top 20 finishes.
34--Travis Kvapil--Front Row Motorsports
Travis only was in six Sprint Cup races in 2009 where he was able to have a best finish of 18th twice. The #34 car though in 2009 did a full season of racing with no top tens, but finished 35th place in the points. I say they could get one top ten finish, but no wins and no more than five top 20 finishes. The driver will finish 32-35th place in the points if it goes the full season with sponsorship from Long John Silvers.
36--Mike Bliss--Tommy Baldwin Racing
The car finished only 25 race in 2009 with no top tens. Mike Bliss though was able to string together 35 starts in the Nationwide series for multiple teams, get one win, 15 top ten finishes, and finish fifth place in the points. Wave Energy Drink will sponsor this car. If it goes the full season I can see this car getting at least five top 20 finishes and finish 30-35th place in the points.
37--Kevin Conway--Front Row Motorsports
Kevin did some Nationwide Series racing in 2009 with only 12 starts and best finish of 15th. He will have Extenze Mens Health Supplement as a sponsor. If he goes a full season he will finish 34-37th place in the points with only a couple top 20 finishes.
38--David Gilliland, Robert Richardson Jr., John Andretti--Front Row Motorsports
David Gilliland had almost a full season of racing inn 2009 with 31 starts and no top tens. He will have Taco Bell Sponsorship when he drives the car. Robert Richardson Jr. had only one Sprint Cup start in 2009 which was not a top ten. He did have 15 Nationwide Series starts in 2009, but also not top tens. He will have Mahindra USA Tractors as his sponsor when he drives the car in a few races. The rumor is John will get the car for the Coca Cola 600. I say David gets a few top 20 finishes in this car at best. And will do 28-32nd place in the points if it goes a full season.
This team did not race at all in 2009 in the Sprint Cup season and for the 2008 season was only in three races. Warner Music will help sponsor this car. I do not see this car getting in more than half a season. David Gilliland will be in the car at Daytona, but do not see him getting a top 20 finish in this race. Also drivers will also be in the car.
51--Michael Waltrip--Michael Waltrip Racing.
Michael moves over to this car for a part time ride in 2010. He finished 33rd place in the points for the 2009 season with two top tens. NAPA might be a sponsor for the limited races he will run. I say he runs less than 10 races and gets no top tens. He will run the Daytona 500 race.
71--Bobby Labonte--TRG Motorsports
Bobby had a full season of racing in 2009 with only two top tens and a 30th place finish in the points. The car though had 35 starts with only one top ten that had Bobby as the driver. I say they will pull off no more than 3 top tens in the races they run. Taxslayer.com is the sponsor for 12 races, but no other sponsorship has been named yet.
78--Regan Smith--Furniture Row Racing
This car had 18 starts in 2008 with no top tens at all. Furniture Row is going to sponsor this car along with other companies. If it goes the full season I do not see a top ten for this car and a finish no better than 30th place in the points.
90--Casey Mears--Keyed Up Motorsports
Casey Mears moves over to this new ride for the 2010 season. He finished the 2009 season in 21st place in the points with four top tens. They say they will run the first five races in 2010 and possibly the full 2010 season. I say they do not make it for even half a season, one possible top 20 finish in the first five races, and do no better than 36th place in the points.
