Kevin Gets Back To Victory Lane

nascar_las_vegas_auto_racing_nvib113.jpgRain killed the start of the Sam's Town 300 by over one full hour. Brad Keselowski won the poll for the race earlier in the day. Danica Patrick though had another bad qualifying lap and is starting in the back again. It is her last time in the Nationwide Series for a few months.

"Really really good Toyota Camery," said Kyle Busch. Brian Scott stated that he is "really pleased" on his car.

Green flag racing did not last long with Kevin Harvick as the leader and on lap six it was Kelly Bires and his car hitting the wall big time. Then it was another short green flag run it was Michael McDowell spinning out. This caution brought in a few cars including Danica and Carl Edwards.

This finally led to the first long green flag run of the day. Kevin was up front again leading more and more laps and then around lap 55 some green flag pit stops started. This helped put Carl Edwards into the lead of the race for a few laps and then he pitted on lap 65.

John Wes Townley then started to lead laps until he pitted. At lap 72 though it was James Buescher wound up with a flat tire, but was able to get the car down onto pit road and not cause a caution.

This finally put Kyle Busch into the lead of the race. At lap 83 though the caution finally comes out at Michael McDowell winds up moving down on Danica Patrick and then crashing her out. "Had a good car," said Danika Patrick. She also stated that Kevin Harvick was helping her out and that is a shame to have been taken out.

"Completely 100% my fault," said Michael McDowell.

This brought in the leaders and Kyle Busch was able win the race off pit road with Carl Edwards coming out in second place.

Kyle Busch quickly got the lead of the race and led the race until another caution for rain came out on lap 104. After five caution laps the green flag started again with Kyle Busch leading more laps. The caution came out again on alp 118 for Ricky Stenhouse Jr. hitting the wall.

The caution brought in most of the cars on the lead lap, but Brendan Gaughan and a couple other cars stay out. After the green flag dropped it was not long and Carl Edwards had the lead of the race as more rain was in the area.

The caution finally comes out on lap 145 for Brian Scott who spins out and crashes his car. This time after the cars pitted it was Denny Hamlin out in first with two new tires and Justin Allgaier is out in second with no new tires.
Denny Hamlin kept on leading laps and the caution came out with 35 laps left as James Buescher crashes his car.

The green flag drops with 30 laps left and it was Colin Braun who quickly gets spun out and crashes into the wall. With 25 laps left and Kevin Harvick with the great restart was able to lead the race. With 21 laps left Kyle Busch hits the wall and started to drop back.

Kevin Harvick would then go on cruise control and win the race. Kevin stated that his car was fast.

"Race changed a lot," said Carl Edwards.

Brad Keselowski stated that his car would come and go.
